This project is an expansive level blockout created for a 3D action game. Set high up in a skyscraper, the initial concept was for the player to make their way from building to building across skyways and crumbling, ruined paths formed from fallen masonry held together by jungle vines.

3D Level Balcony

This view from the balcony was intended to help drive home the scale of the area while granting the player a look back at where they'd come from. I wanted to make extensive use of vertical lines in my shape language to evoke a sense of immensity.

Annotated Map - Final

Here is the final version of the annotated map. This was out of scope for the time frame of the project but I built the map with an eye for how any individual segment could be removed while leaving a cohesive whole. This proved to be critical because the north-most outbuildings all had to be cut from the final project.

Trap Hallway

This hallway sees players confronted with a laser grid that appears before them before rushing down the hall towards them. Players needed to react quickly and dodge behind the corner visible in the upper right to avoid damage.

Main Foyer

Here I wanted to further reinforce the visual language of the level, using more vertical lines from the decorative pillars to evoke a sense of grand scale. The horizontal lines are intended to mimic the silhouette of the parking structure area.
